Labels & search
Organize by topic, find anything fast.
Priority answers "what is urgent"; labels answer "what is this about". Together they keep the inbox organized without a rigid folder system.
Labels
Press l on a message (or use the label button in the toolbar) to open the label picker. Apply existing labels, or type a new name to create one on the spot. Labels sync to your provider, so they are the same labels you would see in Gmail or Outlook.
Search
Press / to jump to the search field. Type and the list filters as you go — senders, subjects, and message content. Clear the query and the inbox comes back untouched.
For navigation rather than mail-finding, ⌘K opens the command palette instead — pages, actions, and shortcuts in one box.
Two lenses
Most people lean on priority for the daily pass and reach for labels and search when they need to pull up a particular kind of mail. Use whichever answers the question you are asking.
