Composing email
New messages, replies, attachments, and drafts.
Press c anywhere — or the New email button in the sidebar — to start a message. Replies are quicker still: inside a thread, r replies, a replies all, and f forwards, each opening an inline reply with the recipients already filled in.
The compose window
- To, Cc, Bcc — add as many recipients as you need.
- A rich-text body with a formatting toolbar — bold, lists, links, the essentials.
- Attachments — attach files from the button below the body; each shows its type and size before you send.
Send with ⌘Enter, or close with Esc.
Drafts save themselves
As you write, Bertram saves your draft automatically. Close the window, come back tomorrow — it is waiting in Drafts, along with anything Bertram drafted for you from delegated tasks or follow-up nudges.
Writing help
The compose window has two AI assists built in — a chat panel that rewrites on request and an autocomplete that finishes your sentences. Both are covered in Writing with AI.
