Bertram helps with the writing in three places. In every case you get a draft, not a sent email — you always have the last word.
Draft a reply to a thread
On an email's page, choose AI Draft Reply and then Generate Draft. Bertram reads the conversation and writes a reply that fits its tone and substance. The result appears in an editable text box — adjust it, use it, or ignore it.
The compose assistant
Inside the compose window, open AI Chat for a side panel that works on the message with you. Ask it to make the draft more concise, add a professional sign-off, change the tone, or restructure the whole thing — it rewrites and you keep what works.
Autocomplete
Pause mid-sentence in the compose body and Bertram quietly suggests the next few words as ghost text. Press Tab to accept, Esc to dismiss, or just keep typing and it gets out of the way.
Ask about a message
On an email's page you can also chat about the message — ask what the sender actually wants, what the deadline is, or what you are committing to if you say yes.
